Responsibilities as an Event Organiser
The Purple Guide
Event Organisers Responsibilities
Gone are the days of “my mate did a first aid course ages ago, he can cover it”.
With more and more claims arising as a result of accidents or injury the requirement for quality medical care has never been so important. But who is responsible for providing “adequate” medical cover for an event. Well, following discussions with the Health and Safety Executive, it is their opinion that the responsibility lies with the Event Organiser.
The Purple Guide to Health, Safety and Welfare at Music and Other Events state that Event Organisers should ensure that “Before contracting medical, ambulance or a first-aid provider for an event, it is important to ensure that they will be able to supply what is needed.” As the organiser of an event you are responsible for appointing a competent medical provider.
At RTC Medical Solutions we are not only great and the medical stuff… we’re pretty good at the Health and Safety part too. Paramedics, Nurses, Pharmacists and a Health and Safety Officer make up just a small part of our team so you can rest assure that your event is in good hands.
